Recently, Samantha Wells sat down with Michael Hocker for another episode of “A Closer Look,” which is sponsored by Innovative Solutions.
Hocker, a 5-7 junior from Durham, N.C., recently transferred to USC Aiken from Division I Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
Hocker, in his first season with the Pacers, has established himself as one that plays every tournament. During the recent PBC Tournament, Hocker’s amazing final round guided USC Aiken back from a four-stroke deficit and to the conference championship – the first for head coach Michael Carlisle’s program since 2014.
Hocker’s final round of 67 helped him finish with an even-par, 216. The score was good enough for a fifth-place finish and a spot on the all-tournament team.
Hocker and the rest of the Pacers hit the links in a couple of weeks for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
