Redshirt-sophomore Kwajelin Farrar had such an amazing rookie season in 2016-17 that she earned PBC Freshman of the Year honors.
During that season, she accounted for 14.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game while guiding the young team to a berth in the PBC Quarterfinals.
Prior to the 2017-18 season, Farrar was sidelined with an injury. However, she worked diligently and was back in the line-up for opening night this year.
Farrar, seeing extended during the second game of the season, registered a career-high 30 points to go along with 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Her double-double the following contest gave her 16 for her young career, which is the most by a USC Aiken student-athlete since the start of the 2000-01 season. Since that time, she upped the tally to 20 double-double efforts.
Farrar has been a constant on the court for head coach Mark Miller’s team after her resilient work ethic allowed her to get back from the injury in a timely, but safe manner.
Farrar recently sat down to discuss her recovery and her career.
