A new beginning. That’s one way to describe what redshirt-senior Markus Terry received upon his arrival on campus prior to the 2016-17 academic year.

The then-rising senior had played his first three years of collegiate basketball under the guidance of Gregg Nibert at Presbyterian College, which is located a couple of hours away in Clinton, S.C.

After shining for the Blue Hose for three seasons, Terry made the decision to leave PC and find a new home.

Prior to his arrival in Aiken, Terry and head coach Mark Vanderslice discussed several options and it was decided that Terry would take his redshirt season in 2016-17 in order to have a year of experience learning the system while also getting ahead in the classroom.

Terry redshirted during the 18-9 season a year ago and is set to get back on the court for his fourth year of competition.
