AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout
Taylor Stratton has been named the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2016-17 athletic year ending Oct. 2, 2016.
Stratton, a 5-10 senior outside hitter from Chesapeake, Va., led the team with a match-high 12 kills in the sweep at Lander in the team's lone match of the week.
Early in the second set, Stratton slammed home her sixth kill of the contest, making her the ninth student-athlete in USC Aiken's history to reach the 1,000-kill plateau.
For good measure in the win, Stratton secured a double-double by digging 14 attempts. She also was in on a block and served up an ace.
The USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
