Pacers Set For PBC Tournament

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team heads into the upcoming PBC Tournament this weekend as the No. 3 seed.

The tournament will be hosted by Flagler and will consist of pool play on Friday and Saturday before playing the championship contest on Sunday.

Head coach Kenny Thomas' team has No. 2 Flagler, No. 6 Columbus State and No. 7 Francis Marion in the same pool.

On Friday, the Pacers square off against the Cougars at 8:30 p.m. USC Aiken trails the all-time series to the Cougars 47-38. The Pacers have won five of their last seven against CSU, including a 4-1 win last year at Flagler in the PBC Tournament.  

On Saturday, USC Aiken takes on the host Saints at 10 a.m. The Pacers hold a 20-14 edge in the all-time series. USC Aiken is 9-7 at Flagler in the all-time series and carries a two-game winning streak in St. Augustine, Fla. In all, the Pacers have won four of their last five in the series, including two-of-three this year in Aiken, S.C.

USC Aiken wraps up pool play against Francis Marion Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. The Pacers have a 58-33 edge in the all-time series. USC Aiken has won nine of its last 11 contests against the Patriots, including two-of-three this season in Florence, S.C.
