Simon Named Peach Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken women’s tennis player Margot Simon was named the Peach Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Monday, April 2, 2012.
Simon is the first ever USC Aiken women’s tennis player to be named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.
Simon helped USC Aiken to a perfect 3-0 week as a team last week by going 3-0 at No. 2 singles.
Simon opened last week by downing Victoria Lindqvist of No. 40
Augusta State 6-2, 6-4.
She followed up that win with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over Martina
Dedaj of No. 9 Clayton State.
Simon closed out last week with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of North Georgia’s Juliana Chiang.
The sophomore from Nantes, France is now 10-6 on the 2012 season
in singles.
Simon is currently 7-0 at No. 2 singles on the year. The Pacers
have won six straight matches as a team when she plays at the No. 2
singles spot.
