Fellabom Chosen Peach Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference league office announced on Tuesday that USC Aiken freshman defender Madeline Fellabom has been selected as the conference Defensive Player of the Week.
A native of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Fellabom concluded the final week of USC Aiken's 2010 regular season by leading the Pacer defense to an undefeated 1-0-1 record. Fellabom and the Pacer defense allowed just two goals in their undefeated week.
Fellabom and the Pacers opened the week with a dominating 8-1 victory over Coker on Monday, Oct. 25 at the "Pacer Pit" before closing out their week and the regular season with a 1-1 double overtime tie with Georgia College on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at the "Pacer Pit."
A product of Wando High School, Fellabom headed in what would become the eventual game-tying goal in the 41st-minute in the tie with Georgia College.
Fellabom finished her freshman campaign having started all 18 Pacer contests. Despite her positioning for most matches in the back, Fellabom still managed to end the year with nine total points on four goals and an assist.
