USC Aiken Ready to Host Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic
AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team will next play host to the 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic.
The 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic will be contested at the USC Aiken Convocation Center on Friday, Dec. 16 and Saturday, Dec. 17.
The extremely competitive field will feature Elizabeth City State, Lenoir-Rhyne and Virginia Union along with the host Pacers.
USC Aiken commences play in the 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic with a 6-1 (2-0 PBC) record in the 2011-12 regular season.
The Pacers have won their last five games. All five wins have been by double figures. Four of the five wins have been by 20 or more points.
USC Aiken seventh-year head coach Vince Alexander enters the 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic just one win shy of 200 for his career.
Alexander is presently 199-152 as a head coach at the NCAA Division II level. He is 110-78 as the Pacer mentor.
The 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic will get underway on the 16th at 5:30 p.m. with Lenoir-Rhyne and Virginia Union taking the floor against one another at the Convocation Center. USC Aiken will take on Elizabeth City State in the final game of the day at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The second day of the 2011 Southeastern Tool-Don Cheeks-Dr. John Riley USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic will begin at 1 p.m. with Elizabeth City State and Lenoir-Rhyne playing against one another. USC Aiken will close the event for the second straight year with a game against Virginia Union at approximately 3 p.m.
