USC Aiken Moves Up to Fourth in Latest NABC/Division II Poll

KANSAS CITY – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team moved up four spots this week to No. 4 in the latest NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll.

The Pacers are one of three Peach Belt Conference teams in the top 12 with Augusta State eighth and Montevallo, who was No. 5 last week, now ranked 12th.

Earning their first national ranking of the year at No. 20 on Dec. 4, 2007, USC Aiken has now been ranked in the top 25 in 32 of the last 46 regular season polls.

USC Aiken is currently 6-1 on the 2010-11 season. The Pacers are 2-1 in Peach Belt Conference play after acquiring a 68-61 victory over Columbus State this past Saturday.

USC Aiken will next compete in the 2010 Conoco Phillips and Quality Energy Services USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic at the Convocation Center. The tournament features host USC Aiken, Mount Olive, Shaw and Virginia Union.

The Pacers, who will play two games in the event, will commence their action in the 2010 ConocoPhillips and Quality Energy Services USC Aiken Pre-Holiday Classic with a 7:30 p.m. game against Shaw on Thursday, Dec. 16. The Pacers will close out the event in a top 25 battle with No. 23 Virginia Union at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17.
