Pacers Return From Holiday Break for Non-Conference Contest with Mars Hill
AIKEN, S.C. – The 13th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team returns to action tomorrow for a non-conference showdown with Mars Hill at the Convocation Center.
Tip-off in the contest between the Pacers and the Lions is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30.
The nationally-ranked Pacers welcome Mars Hill to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center owning a 7-2 record overall on the 2010-11 season. The contest will serve as USC Aiken’s final non-conference encounter for quite some time as USC Aiken opens the 2011 calendar year by jumping fully into Peach Belt Conference action. USC Aiken’s final non-conference game of the 2010-11 season will not take place until Saturday, Feb. 26 in its regular season finale against King in Bristol, Tenn.
The Pacers commence PBC action on Monday, Jan. 3 against Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Ga. Tip-off in the men’s and women’s conference twinbill is scheduled for approximately 7:30 p.m. The 25th-ranked Pacer women will take on the Georgia Southwestern women prior to the men’s game at 5:30 p.m.
Mars Hill travels to USC Aiken owning a 4-5 record overall. The Lions have dropped three straight.
USC Aiken and Mars Hill will be tangling on the hardwood for the 13th time on Thursday. The two programs have not squared off since the Pacers took two games from the Lions in the early part of the 2007-08 season.
The two wins helped USC Aiken to its current 11-1 all-time record against Mars Hill.
