Faison Obtains USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week Accolades

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball player Byron Faison was selected as the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on December 14, 2009.

In USC Aiken's victory over Wingate last week, Faison ended his day tied for game-high honors with 19 points.

Faison was a deft 8-for-12 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. He also had four steals and two assists in 28 minutes of action in the win over the Bulldogs.

Faison is the third USC Aiken men's basketball player to claim the award in 2009, joining Re'mon Nelson (Nov. 9) and Michael Technow (Nov. 30).

The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award is a newly created award for the 2009-10 athletic year. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department is going to honor one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
