South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week
University of South Carolina Aiken senior golfer Matt Atkins was named the final South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2012-13 athletic year on Sunday, May 26, 2013.
USC Aiken was led in stroke play at the 2013 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship by the 2013 Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year.
Atkins (70-69-72) finished the three rounds of stroke play tied for first individually with Florida Southern's Tim Crouch (71-71-69) and Western Washington's Jake Webb (71-75-65).
The trio went to a playoff, but Atkins (Owensboro, Ky./Henderson State) bowed out on the first playoff hole. Crouch would go on to claim individual medalist honors on the second playoff hole.
Atkins (74) then closed out his illustrious Pacer career by downing Lynn's Flip Timmerman (77) by three strokes in USC Aiken's team loss in the national quarterfinals.
Atkins finished the 2012-13 season with a team-best 73.03 scoring average. He had two individual wins and five top-5 finishes this past season.

USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month
University of South Carolina Aiken freshman baseball player Tyler Moore has been named the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month for his efforts in the month of May.
Moore (Evans, Ga./Evans HS) hit a team-best .375 (6-for-16) for USC Aiken during the month of May. He claimed a total of seven bases during USC Aiken's final month of the year.
Moore, who scored two runs in May, owned a slugging percentage of .478 for his efforts in the month.
In the field, Moore had eight putouts and one impressive assist in May.
Moore was a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts in May. He finished the 2013 season with 13 stolen bases in total.
Moore closed out his freshman campaign in 2013 hitting .384 (33-for-86). The freshman outfielder played in 37 games in 2013, starting 19.
The USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2012-13 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
